'cept Snicker and she did nufin. Finaly daddy gets up at 5:00 to let woofie go poo outsides an herd me say MRROUUUUUUUT! Mommy felts bad an we got break fast early an me got xtra treats. So da foods helped an Iz gonna be more carful bout sleepin in da closet.

Feral Cat Colony

Yep, that is an itty bitty kitten! Don't worry Jake, it's not mine! Daddy found three of them at work in their warehouse/barn next to the office. Sorry for the quality but it was taken in poor light with a cell phone. Daddy put them in a box last Friday to keep them out of harms way, trucks and forklifts and stuff. He hoped the momma would come get them and take them away. Yesterday they were still there, but appeared healthy and strong, momma heard them mewling loud and proud over the phone. A co-worker saw a momma cat around yesterday. Don't know if its their mom though as another kitten a few weeks older has also been seen. It appears that they have a full fledged feral colony on their hands. The adults won't come within 50 feet of any bean. Daddy took some stinky goodness to leave by the kitten box today. Momma and Daddy are trying to figure out how to do one of those programs where you trap, fix and release. They don't have the green papers to do it themselves and don't have any experience. We are all worried about the three fluffy balls. We need some purr support for this situation. We don't even know how many kitties are in need here yet!

**Update** The fluff balls are coming home with daddy tonight. There had been no sign of momma kitty! The babies are crying and crying! It is also cold and rainy. Momma doesn't know what to do though, both she and daddy have to go dayhunt. Momma has taken off so much time off her boss told her today he might have to just take greens papers out of her check!! MEANNY HEAD! She doesn't know how she will feed them. She and daddy have called lots of shelters and no one will take 2 week old kittens. She is waiting on word on one last place to let her know one way or the other. If they say no???? We are all a dither!

**Update 2** Sigh, sneaky momma is feeding them. Daddy is adding clean rags to their box and is going to start putting out food for momma kitty every day. Momma also found a T/N/R program that will loan traps and fix and rabies shot for free the whole colony! Daddy will have to put in the grunt work though. Now daddy has to get permission to do this from his employers. That the next BIG hurdle!! Thanks to every kitty who is purring for the fluff balls, please purr they will say daddy can help!

Poor Empress! I think you were very brave to have stayed in that closet all night. It is only fair that you get extra treats today after that ordeal.

Oh, baby kittens that need help! I hope your mommy and daddy find a way to help all of those feral kitties. Now that I know about them I will be worried, too.

Poor you Empress, being shut in a closet all night! German homes don't have closets, so we'll never be locked in one while living here.

We don't have any advice regarding the feral colony, other than to see if there is a trap-neuter-release program in your area. We will purr and pray for the ferals!

We have almost the same story on Zoolatry; just 2 little ferals... and no way for us to manage a TNR at this time... good luck with yours.

oh my goodness! stuck in a closet all night! that must've been sad.

we understand about not being able to TNR yourselves. Try contacting Alley Cat Allies www.alleycat.org, or a local shelter for a TNR group that operates in your area. we will purr and pray for a happy result.

Poor Empress! That sounds very scairty!

I will purr for the feral kittens. Can you see about a TNR program in your area? They can give you some advice and might be able to help, too.

Empress...the HORRORS!! Though I've been known to enjoy a night in the closet alone. I'm sure they'll be more careful!

There are lots of those sorts of programs around, tell your beans to keep on searching!

Oh Empress - what a rotten thing to be trapped all night! We're glad you're out safe.

The story of the kittens is sad, we hope that your Momma and Daddy find a way to help the kittens and the colony. Trapping them is fairly easy if you get the humane traps - it's paying for the fixing that's hard (purr-haps there is a local group that you could call?). We hope everything goes well for the wee fluff balls!

My dear Queen Snickers, I think that I would be an excellent Daddy cat if the situation called for it - you can always count on me :-)
Purrs,
Your Jake

Poor Empress. If that ever happens again, your must call out in your loudest voice!

Poor little furballs. Go online and search for care of kittens to see about feeding.

Are you's gonna take tha kittens an keep 'em at yours house?
Be careful, that's how I ended up wif three brofurs an a sisfur. Hee hee. (But mine mommie an daddy wouldn't take no amounts of money fur watching these kittens grow up, no siree. they say that's priceless.)
If you raises tha kittens right now, maybe some of us could help wif tha funds???
An help you find homes fur them later.
Where are you located?

KC

oooh - babies! that's how we got stuck with Rascal & Riley. some mean person stuck them in a little box when they were only 1 day old and left them in a parking lot. our people found them and brought them home. bottle feeding and taking care of them was lotsa work, but one of our teenagers is home-schooled, so it was her job when the rest of our people were gone. plus, we were trapped as 2 month old ferals, with the help of traps provided by Ally Cat Allies. we're gonna purrrrr lots fur those kitties (and fur your people too)

That's a very good thing your Momma and Daddy are doing. It might be hard for them at times, but in the end it's worth it. Good luck for your Daddy approaching his employer about the TNR he wants to do. I hope they have no problems getting a rescue organization (no kill) to accept the kittens once they're old enough. We had a very difficult time with that.

Good luck and best wishes to your family in these endeavors :-)

Well, let us know if you need help with raising funds for taking care of them or anything else.
Sounds like the mommy cat is still around.
BTW, Dallas is my hometown. Yay, Big D. I grew up near White Rock Lake.

Hey there buddies--tiny little kittens like that can usually make it through it they are fed KMR regularly. Your momma and daddy may have to help them use the box, though. Little kittens need "potty stimulation": their tummies rubbed and sometimes even their spot 13's, um, well, licked by their cat mommas, but I guess a wet cloth would work, too. Kittens are high-maintenance, buddies. Oh man. Glad you found a kitty-helping group to help your daddy TNR!

We sure hope yoor dad's work place see dat dis will be a benefit to dem. T/N/R really helps to keep da colony manageable.

Babies!!!!! Your Momma and Daddy are so good to take those wee ones in!

I was only 3 weeks old when I found Mommy, we went through a lot of KMR and potty breaks (Mommy and Daddy used a wet rag to make me go). But when you don't have a MommaKitty you pick up all the eating and pooping by yourself pretty quickly!

Let us know if you guys need any help with extra formula or toys or anything!

Purrs,
Jake
